October, one of the worst month on stock markets, is over and Standard & Poor's have published statistics for major stock market indices. I picked group of emerging markets from S&P Global Equity Indices and added four fundamental indicators. Beaten airlines - Ready to bounce?

Airline industry has been one of the most beaten in last year. AMEX Airline Index (XAL) is down more than 50% in last months and but on July it had been even almost 70% down. What is interesting is that recent low has been formed on July. Compared to other industries where recent lows have been reached during October after heavy sell-off. Last time we profiled the Monthly HUI index, we pointed out the bullish pennant that was forming. Unfortunately, it has broken to the downside. No buy signal was generated as a result. The picture above shows 6 months chart of S&P 500 (SPX). Buying appetite is pushing indexes up. There are not positive news on street today. Consumer confidence worst in decades. But this market is just simply oversold and bargain hunters are choosing this Tuesday for picking up undervalued stock. At the chart you can see interesting pattern in S&P. Last week I posted map of European ETFs with one year performance. There are some exception but on average ETFs are down more than 50%.
